Paneer, the taste of India

Let’s Find How is Paneer Healthy For You?

What Is Paneer made of?

Paneer is common in the Indian subcontinent. It is a fresh cheese and an unaged, non-dissolving delicate cheddar made by coagulating milk with an organic product or vegetable-inferred corrosive like lemon.

Some traits which make it unique from the other food products:

  • It is a soft cheese.
  • The cheese is unaged.
  • It doesn’t melt easily.

People usually consume Paneer at different times of the day. They can eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a light snack.

History of Paneer

The oldest Paneer was found in the sixteenth century in the southern regions of Asia. This is where the Afghans and Persians introduce cheese first when they were ruling it. It is indeed a huge part of Indian cuisine from the early stages of its origin.

How can we prepare it at home?

The items used in the preparation are simple and are available everywhere, and therefore it is easy to make Paneer at home.

Necessary ingredients:

  • Whole milk
  • Cheese Cloth
  • Lemon juice

The process goes as follows:

Here, your Colander is covered with the Cheesecloth by its outline. Then we’ll let it sink in. Now bring nine cups of the whole milk and heat it to boil over medium heat. Stir continuously. Once this is done, add your lemon juice and then turn this heat to a lower flame.

Now you will observe that the milk starts to curdle. Now turn off the stove and then pour this milk into the Colander. Rinse it with cold water. Take the Cheesecloth and make sure to squeeze out every drop of the excess liquid in it. Now tie it up and let the rest of the liquid drain.

Finally, after all this process, twist it up into a ball and put it on a container. Now put a huge weight on it and put it in the freezer for about half an hour. And voila! You have it at your fingertips.
